When we talk about paracord, the uses are simply endless! Have you ever considered covering paracord around the handle of a knife or any other similar survival tool? If not, think about it especially if you are an outdoor enthusiast. You will enjoy the enhanced traction that makes it incredibly easier to hold the knife. There are several ways to wrap a paracord. Here we have discussed the most practical and easy technique to get the job perfectly done.

1 Make a Loop

The foremost step is to form a loop using the paracord that somehow goes parallel with the length and width of the handle. Secure the loop to one side of the handle. Remember taping the loop should be done on the flat edge of the handle instead of the narrow one. Also, consider the dimensions of the loop that resemble the flat side. Keep the juncture of the loop at the top of the handle and underneath the bottom of the blade. Place the curve right at the bottom of the handle. Overall, the paracord length should be approximately five times longer than the handle length keeping the loop in the middle of the cord.

2 Cover the Left End

Now start wrapping from the left end of the cord all the way around the handle. As soon as it reaches the middle of the original loop, slip the end underneath the connection and below the cord. You will get a cord on your left forming a sub-division of the loop nearby the right end. The left end of the cord will stay on the left side of the handle.

3 Weave the Right End

Cover the right end of the cord around the distance across the handle. Put it in the space among all three sections facing forward. These sections right in the middle are the two parts below the connection of the original loop and the left end that you have earlier covered. Slide the right end over the left connection point keeping it under the right joint and the left cord. Heave on the cord securely and ensure the process goes smoothly. By the end of the step, the right end will stay on the right edge of the handle.

4 Turn and Repeat

Turn and replicate the entire length of the handle. Make sure the rest of the handle is perfectly covered by following the same wrapping steps. As soon as you repeat the process twice, revolve the knife at 180 degrees. Fundamentally, each set is performed upside-down. You need to repeat the process by covering the left end first and follow the right end. Replicate the process unless and until you reach the bottom of the handle.

5 Weave in the Finishes

As you reach the foot of the blade, it’s time to weave the two final ends back into multiple layers. Keep on wrapping the paracord at the lowermost of the handle. If you are wrapping the cord tightly around the handle, it will provide adequate security.

6 Secure a Knot

For additional security, carry two ends around the knife handle’s backbone and secure them flawlessly into a tight knot. Cut down any excess as per the requirement. If you are looking forward to making a handle loop, all you need to do is knot the ends together close to their tips as an alternative to securing them near the handle.
